Sabi is an AKC-registered Therapy Dog who also volunteers in the community through the Pet Partners program. She has rounds at our local hospital and doctors’ offices, visits the library so children can read to her, and greets visitors at the studio workshop — bringing a steady, calm presence that helps people feel welcomed as soon as they walk in.
Sabi is a purebred Havanese, my beloved Mulligan’s niece. Weighing in at around 20 pounds, Sabi is a lot of love in a small package. For those who enjoyed their visits with Mulligan, Sabi inherited his extraordinary gentle temperament. Sometimes it’s uncanny how she shares even his smallest mannerisms!
Sabi lives at home with her daughter, Élodie (Ellie), who is a happy puppy in training to become an AKC-registered Therapy Dog too. So far, Ellie has graduated puppy training courses and earned her AKC Canine Good Citizenship designation. She continues to work on her skills and manners, learning more throughout our community every day.
When Sabi is at the studio, she’s there as a trained facility dog, to offer a quiet, consistent kind of comfort that doesn’t need to be a big moment to be meaningful.
If you’re curious whether Sabi will be there on a particular day, just ask when you book or when you drop by, and we’ll try our best to arrange for Sabi to greet you. She’s usually around, but she also takes downtime at home.
