Who We Are

(Ode) is a string ensemble from southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island, comprised of harps, bowed psalteries, hammered dulcimer and bodhrán. We are musicians of varied experience, interested in promoting the appreciation of these instruments, as well as the enjoyment and therapeutic benefit of their sounds. Ode ensemble performs music for groups in area communities.

Ep(ode) LLC: Ep(ode) provides bedside therapeutic harp and related consulting services. Sandy Pereira, CCM is a Certified Clinical Musician, a graduate of Harp for Healing, founded by the harp therapy pioneer, Laurie Riley, and accredited by the National Standards Board for Therapeutic Musicians. Sandy has a degree in human development and gerontology, hospice training for Connecticut and Rhode Island, is an active volunteer in the community, and can be found playing therapeutic harp music bedside for Yale New Haven Health at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, CT, Westerly Hospital in Westerly, RI, and Beacon Hospice of Rhode Island.

Sandy completed the Level I Harp Therapy and Guided Imagery course of masterclasses through Arpamagica, Centro di Ricerca Musicoterapica, (Milan, Italy) in 2021 and is currently studying for their advanced course certificate.
